On behalf of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the 44th edition of our Annual Congress, which will take place from 15 to 17 October 2025 in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Gothenburg, renowned as Sweden’s automotive capital, is also home to the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, the largest in the Nordic region and a referral hospital for cancer patients from the Region, other parts of Sweden and from other countries. The city is recognized for its leadership in medical care and research, further enhancing its status as a key player in our field.

The ESSO Congress has experienced remarkable growth over the years, firmly establishing itself as the premier event for the Surgical Oncology community. Bringing together surgeons, oncologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from over 70 countries worldwide, the congress serves as a forum for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and advancing surgical oncology practices.

Our success is built on our state-of-the-art programme that covers a wide range of tumour sites, new treatments, and new technologies. Our goal is to make sure that our delegates can use this knowledge and enhance their daily practice, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

With “Educating The Next Generation of Surgical Oncologists” as congress theme, we also aim at highlighting the importance of training, mentorship, and empowering young surgeons.
